My foundation herd:
I started my herd in 2024 by obtaining the best foundation stock from Coyote Kidz Dairy Goats in Livingston, MT. I obtained my herd name "Bar Lazy Heart 6" from the American Dairy Goat Association. I am learning in 4-H and through my mentor at Coyote Kidz Dairy Goats.

Our Story
My great, great, great grandma was Guadalupe Brannin. She and her husband Stanton Brannin along with their eleven kids trailed north to Montana. (A family of 13, count them eleven kids, with two more to be born in their new home!) Leaving from New Mexico in May of 1895, they made the slow trek to Montana. They were joined by a son-in-law, a granddaughter, and a few friends. Their wagon train was pulled by horses and mules.
Try to take yourself back 130 years, and imagine what the 1,300+ mile trek from New Mexico to Melville, Montana would look like...the Brannin boys trailing 360 head of horses, 90 burros, and 900 Angora goats ahead of the wagons.

You could say goats are in my genes! Five generations later my family is still ranching near Melville, Montana AND we're back in the goat business. Now I am using my goats to promote agriculture and support kids in need.
The Bar Lazy Heart 6 brand was registered in Montana January 11, 1941 to Ward and Parker for cattle and horses. Robert "Bud" (my great, great grandfather) and his business partner Ernest Parker. I now co-own this brand and Bar Lazy Heart 6 became the herd name with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). Bud was married to Delia...the daughter of Guadalupe.
